Our grain bin complex is currently at a capacity of just under 1 million bushels.  Management’s decisions to add bins over the years has been based on marketing; the ability to store corn, soybeans, and wheat past harvest allows them to sell at higher prices in the future. 

In 2013 we installed a state-of-the-art high-efficiency grain dryer, which was estimated to provide a 34% reduction in energy costs.  This allows us to dry hundreds of thousands of bushels each harvest season faster, in order to have it ready to haul to the mills.  The system also has a remote-control feature called GSI Watchdog which allows us to monitor and control the temperatures of the dryer through an app on our phone.
